
Dustin J. Miller
Dustin brings nearly two decades of experience in government affairs in a variety of arenas including federal, state, tribal and local governments.
Following law school, Miller created his own nonprofit to work on community and economic development on the Crow Creek Sioux Reservation in central South Dakota. This work included receiving multiple federal grant awards along with working directly with the South Dakota Congressional Delegation on federal funding for tribal schools and water infrastructure.
He took this expertise to Washington DC to work with tribal nations across the country on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture in the Secretary’s Office of Tribal Relations. In this position, he managed hundreds of millions of dollars in water, electric and telecommunications projects coming out of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that impact tribal lands.
Miller returned home to work in 2012 to a government affairs position with the Iowa League of Cities where he began lobbying in the Iowa State Capitol on behalf of the over 900 cities in the state of Iowa on public safety, property tax, economic development incentives and infrastructure issues. Through this work he was asked to join Iowa’s oldest lobby firm and has worked as a multi-client lobbyist since 2016 where he also began serving as the executive director of the Iowa Chamber Alliance.
Prior to these experiences Miller attended the University of Iowa for his undergraduate degree and Drake Law School where he earned a Food & Agricultural Law Certificate along with being a Public Service Scholar. He also spent four years living abroad in London, England and Athens, Greece including working in the House of Commons with the Parliamentary Private Secretary of the Leader of the Opposition.
